Supplements, Herbs and Super Foods for Radiation Protection [Notes]
My notes (so far) about supplements, herbs and foods to remove cesium (radioactive fallout from Fukushima)
Cs-137 mimics the activity of potassium and therefore accumulates in soil and plants, and is actively taken up by the human body.
(Please Note, my notes are just for my own use… sharing in case anyone actually is on the same page as me x )
Recommended Supplements ( not from Japan )
- Chlorophyll (Spirulina and chlorella, leafy greens, celery, parsley, grain/bean “sprouts”)
- Vitamin C with bioflavonoids
- Vitamin D
- Iodine – Lugol’s or Potassium iodide or Nascent iodine
- Vitamin E
- Selenium
- Multi-mineral
- Melatonin
- Calcium
- Rutin
- Cucumin ( turmeric )
- Green Clay ( edible kind ) or Bentonite Clay (absorbs radiation internally)
- Zeolite
- Food grade diatomacious earth
- Ginseng (helps body recover from radiation poisoning)

- Kelp tablets ( go slow – can be toxic)

Recommended Herbs
- Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)– removes radioactive isotopes from the body.
- Cilantro Leaf (coriander) (Coriandum sativum)– natural heavy metal chelator (i.e. plutonium and cesium are heavy metals.) Therefore, it helps to eliminate them out of the body.
- Eleuthero/Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus)– helps protect against the side effects of radiation exposure.
- Holy Basil/Tulsi Aerial Parts (Ocimum sanctum)– preliminary research shows evidence that Holy Basil protects against radiation-induced peroxidation, thus helping to protect against the detrimental effects of low-level radiation. It also increases glutathione and superoxide dismutase which are important mediators in the liver in helping the body deal with radiation.
- Reishi Mushroom Fruiting Bodies (Ganoderma lucidum)– offers protection against ionizing radiation

- Seaweed, Kelp, Spirulina, Wheatgrass, Blue-green algae
- Miso
- Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots
- Bee pollen
- Rosemary

- Ginger
- Alfalfa sprouts, Watercress, Wheat Sprouts, Bean Sprouts
- Reishii (a mushroom)

- Leafy greens, Cabbage, Kale, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Arugula (Rocket), Turnips, Radishes, Cauliflower, Mustard Greens, Bok Choy, Collards, Spinach

- Brewer’s yeast/nutritional yeast

Other
- Get a geiger counter
- Evacuate immediately if you experience a metallic taste in your mouth
- Take a baking soda bath and juice some coriander (helps body flush heavy metals)
- “Oil pulling” after potential exposure can help
