Recipes - Smoothies (My Cheatsheet)

I would never have smoothies if I had to follow a recipe so I have created a DIY “Cheat Sheet” to make sure that I regularly add smoothies to my life without needing to go to a grocery store to get ingredients.

See my post “Time-Saving & Cheap Health Shortcuts” to see what I do. In a nutshell, I pre-mix things to make things “ready-to-go”, ie:

I have a container with my mixed nuts & seeds e.g. Cashews, Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Chia Seeds, Brazil Nuts, etc.

I have another container with my natural powdered supplements e.g. colostrum, acai berry powder, green powder, sulforaphane, etc.

When I buy frozen fruit/berries, I separate them into small hand-sized sandwich bags. e.g. mixed berries, mango, banana, avocado, spinach

I make slices for quick snacks & ice-cube tray health concoctions which I put into ice-cube trays, both of which I add to my smoothies e.g. beetroot & ginger, mango & lemon, lemon & ginger, dates/banana/nuts/coconut oil etc.

I prepare all this on one day which takes about 20 minutes.

Then I always have ready-to-go smoothies at hand, so I’ll add a scoop of the nut mix & supplements, a bag of frozen, a couple of ice-cubes, and then whatever fresh fruit I have on-hand.

Now all I’ll need to do is start collecting milk thistle & dandelion, and start growing my own when the weather is not so Ice-Age.

Milk Thistle

Protects against Poisons | Dr Eric Berg

Health Benefits of Milk Thistle (Short)

1 Nov 2021 | Dr. Eric Berg DC

See other Dr Eric Berg’s videos on Milk Thistle:

Milk thistle is a very powerful herb that could potentially help your liver cells.

There is a special group of phytonutrients collectively called silymarin that is responsible for these amazing effects on the liver.

If you’re going to use milk thistle, it may be more beneficial to use the whole herb instead of just this extracted compound. There are a lot of other things in milk thistle that may be beneficial.

8 benefits of milk thistle for the liver:

  1. Strengthens hepatocyte (a liver cell)
  2. Serious antioxidant
  3. Anti-fibrotic
  4. Anti-Inflammatory
  5. Reduces damage to liver cells
  6. Regenerates liver cells
  7. Protects loss of glutathione
  8. Supports thyroid conversion (T4-T3)

Milk thistle is like an incredible liver detox. Research suggests it has some powerful benefits because of the phytonutrient in milk thistle called silibinin.

According to this research, the benefits of milk thistle include: (14)

  • Helps repair insulin resistance and fatty liver
  • Removes hydrogen peroxide from the body’s tissues
  • Acts as an anti-inflammatory
  • Helps protect against chemotherapy
  • Contains anticarcinogen properties
  • Acts as a powerful antioxidant
  • Nullifies cytokines
  • Acts as a strong antifibrotic
  • Supports the gallbladder and production of bile
  • Has potent antiviral properties

Recommends the freeze-dried form of milk thistle supplement as the most potent and pure form.

Glutathione is the most abundant antioxidant in the liver, but all of the cells make it. It reduces oxidative stress. Glutathione can help neutralize toxins that your body actually makes for various things. Glutathione also helps maintain exogenous antioxidants like vitamin C, and vitamin E. It not only acts as an antioxidant, but it also helps in detoxification. Because glutathione is sulfur, when you eat certain foods high in sulfur, you will give your body the raw material it needs to make more glutathione.

It may not be a good idea to take synthetic antioxidants because they have been known to cause cancer. This is because they don’t come in networks. Once they donate their electron, they become the problem.

How to boost glutathione naturally:
• Sulfur-based vegetables (cruciferous vegetables) • Vitamin C
Selenium
• Milk thistle
• Fasting

What decreases glutathione?
• Alcohol
• Stress
• Age
• Drugs
• Toxins (like the convid clot shot)
