Prep for a Change of Life Week [Food Diary Feb 27]
As of yesterday, I’m now 38 years old. I’ve spent the past year focused on learning about nutrition, health, and mindset. I’ve rebuilt my nutrition banks and no longer feel like I’m dying. I think the next big step, is to spend the next 12 months cleansing my organs.
I’m going to figure out what I’ll be doing as I approach each organ cleanse, but I think it needs to be spread out, so that you are fasting, cleansing, and having breaks. Kind of like a less-extreme version of Gerson therapy (although it will seem extreme to most of the people I know lol).
Over the next 12 months, I want to incorporate the following:
- Going to bed earlier (by about 10pm) – goal: sleeping closer to nature’s rhythm (10pm-6am, 9pm-5am, etc – somewhere around there and I’ll be pretty happy). Currently sleeping pattern is approximately: 2am-8am, 3am-8:30am, 4am-10:00am.
- Getting more quality sleep
- Cleaning out the clutter – my possessions are about to get a major overhaul.
- Learning Meditation &/or applying Quiet Reflection as a regular part of my life
- Re-incorporating daily yoga & stretching back into my life
- Twice Weekly Rebounding
- Learning QiGong or Tai Chi
- Daily Sun access
- Freeing myself from cigarettes & coffee addiction
- Making Leafy-Greens “1/2” my diet
- Continuing my ever-delving deeper into optimal living in all parts of my life
- Moving to a location that supports my new lifestyle choices
And this is the order I think the organ cleanses should be done (but I’ll do more research):
- Starting with a Colon Cleanse
- 2 Day Water Fast & Enemas
- 5 Day Juice Fast
- 2 Week Blended Liquid (1/2 Fruit / Veg, 1/2 Leafy Plants)
- Regular Probiotics, and investing more time learning natural ways to rebuild gut bacteria
- 2 x Liver & Gall Bladder Cleanses followed by colon cleanses
- Kidney Cleanse
- Another Liver & Colon Cleanse
- Parasite Cleanse
- Another Liver & Colon Cleanse
- Lung Cleanse
- Heavy-Metal Cleanse
- Another Colon Cleanse
Does that sound about right to those who have researched organ cleansing?
I think I’ve come a long way from the lifestyle I used to have, but I still have so much to go. It’s one thing correcting your diet & adjusting your mindset to a point where you feel alive again, another thing to cleanse the years of damage & toxic crud I inflicted upon myself from 38 years of incorrect lifestyle. Even though I feel pretty good now, I want to feel GREAT, and I want it to show on my outside what I’m feeling on the inside so that I can be even more of a shining example to those I care about to start applying the things I’ve been learning. I want to take the next year to do a major cleanout & cleanup. That will probably mean continuing to eat a mostly raw, and mostly a plant-based diet, but probably stepping it up a few notches from the things I do currently for the coming year (which would be much easier to do if I lived in a sunny, warm environment.. so that is also a priority).
I will see how I feel at each stage of the cleanses, as incorporating wellness into your life is a unique and personal journey, no body is the same and my cells and problems are different than the next person’s. I think you need to know or ‘feel’ when it’s getting “too much” or “not enough” within yourself, by your energy & vitality levels and the body’s own internal warning signals telling you exactly what it does and doesn’t want you to do :).
So while I study and prepare over the coming weeks what my “plan of action” is going to be, that being in the back of my mind, will decide what I eat over the next few weeks, whether I try and eat a lot more meat since I plan on abstaining for a while, or whether I lean more towards transitioning further into more juicing and smoothies.. I will take each day as it comes and decide as I go, there is no stress here, I’m not following anyone’s “rules” except my own gut instincts. It just feels like the right thing to do… this year will be a major cleanout and detox and taking big leaps & bounds moving towards optimal health and away from disease.
Day One, today, I am on left-overs – the last of the week’s shopping to fit the new batch that I purchased today.

Activities: Can’t remember what I did this morning, how weird. Oh yeah, wrote a new blog post about “Food Bombs to Feed Homeless and Community”, Made brunch (pancakes), repotted herbs into larger pots with organic veg soil & diatomaceous earth, went grocery shopping, took the nephews to the park, made dinner, watched ‘The Block’ with sis, and now working on this post. Don’t remember doing anything else today but surely I must’ve? lol. This blog post, replying to my bday wishes on Facebook, watching health videos, browsing the Global Healing centre website and purchasing items, browsing their FB page, joining a Detox group. Now it’s almost 4am.. so much for a 10pm sleep. Will try and make it 2-3am tomorrow and work down to normality slowly.

I’m not yet convinced this recipe will be the right way to go chemical-free on my hair. Maybe I just need to dye it once less blonde so that I don’t have to worry about yellow/gold maintenance)

Mood Check: Good mood, focused. After day progressed, pain in left shoulder and arm.

Activities: Facebook, Outside in the sun while my family was in the garden, I read an entire book.. um, Liver & Gallbladder cleanse and took 8 pages of notes, went to the health food shop to price check all the ingredients I’ll need to start the cleanse, but they didn’t have most of them, but they just got Moringa in! Yay, so I bought some of that and some marshmallow root and epsom salts, had brunch at the Indian grocer (2 x Veg samosas), and walked around watergardens shopping centre, then came home, transferred the notes to where I’m collating all my cleanse research (unpublished right now), made dinner, and now I’m updating this post and probably about to get dragged to the park with my nephews before it gets too dark & cold.. :) nope.. tv time with sis, updating the cure emphysema post with personal comments, and now.. 4am.. almost bedtime.
