After yesterday not getting more than 2.5 hours sleep, I made up for it last night by having another 12 hour sleep. My head is heavy. I feel like I could probably get upset or frustrated very easily over nothing.

In reflection, I’m wondering if I’m having side-effects from the Ginseng. Known side effects are: trouble sleeping, agitation, headache, menstrual problems, dizziness, drowsiness. Caffeine can increase the side effects. So maybe my trouble sleeping and agitation and brain fog is caused by Ginseng + coffee. And for this reason, I’m going to stop taking Ginseng this week.

Not sure what is going on with my emotions.. I’m “almost” 100% certain that it is something to do with what I’m eating/supplementing, but I cannot figure out which is the culprit, but I’m definitely not 100%.. I’m not my happy self.. I’m not looking forward to anything, everything is upsetting me.. I get teary just thinking about getting teary.. it’s ridiculous. I’m fine.. calm, content, then bam, *nothing* will move my energy and I’ll feel at an all time low… or I’ll get agitated.. or I’ll get angry.. or I’ll start to hold back tears, or I’ll get frustrated.. I haven’t experienced this for a long time. I mean, every now and then, I get emotional or stressed, but this is definitely a ‘different’ type.. it’s an ‘out-of-character’ emotional rollercoaster ride for me.. like stress / anger / sadness / frustration all at once.. it’s just “weird”. I really want to find out what is doing this. Hopefully it’s temporary and something is being “cleaned out”.

It would be great to figure out what is causing this so that I can avoid it in future, or pre-warn others.. or even see if it’s a necessity when going through this. Currently I’m “off” the Ginseng and the Melatonin which to me are the ‘iffiest’ things I’ve added to my experiment. And today I didn’t add MSM or Vitamin C to my water, and instead put 6 drops of Zeolite in, just because in the “past”, MSM (I blame my current brand) has bothered me. I also skipped the wheatgrass & chlorella today.

This experiment has way more supplements than I normally take, and definitely not something I would ever do long-term. And it’s actually hard to “keep up” to what my plan contained.. it’s impossible to do everything “on my list” unless I was doing nothing but focusing on this and timing everything to the hour or 2 because some things can’t be taken near others, and there are not many studies on which supplement might not work well with others, etc.

So these “effects” I’m having in my emotions and body (I have shoulder pain too), I wonder if I’m just trying way too many things at once, and that if I was to continue to have this many supplements, that my body would probably benefit more from “resting” rather than trying to continue on with my normal life.

Aside from these sore shoulders of mine, and a little back pain that has come out of nowhere, I’m back to my former, happy self. I’m still taking a lot less supplements than last week, and taking less than the “plan” for this week, which was supposed to be ramped up :) But I think I have to listen to my body – it’s obviously having a bit of a sook about something that I’m doing, and unfortunately it could be one of many different things, or the whole combination. Had a great walk with my sister first thing this morning, had a shoulder massage to try and get help aid whatever is going on with them right now, and tonight I think we are out of hot water, but if there is any left, I’m heading for a magnesium bath.. otherwise, tomorrow.

This morning I coughed up a lot of mucus (1/3 cup). Grossed out? I don’t care. When I was the sickest and I first started detoxing, I was coughing up 1.5 Litres per day (this is the end of last year sometime). So when I get symptoms like this, I wonder 2 things:
1.) Is it because of something I ate yesterday, that my body is doing it’s job and detoxing.., or
2.) Is something, like a supplement etc, doing it’s job and causing more things to detox from my body
I don’t know if I’ll be able to know the answer to that question this week or not, because today’s diet is similar to yesterday’s (I’m thinking the quinoa dish last night if it’s #1) and having rice for dinner tonight when I’ve been ‘off grains’ could affect me in a negative way too (although I feel fine 2 hours later – yippee).

I purchased Xylitol today after listening to a podcast episode about it (Quantum Physiques: (5/30/12): A Joe Rogan Excerpt Proves He Embraces Chemical Anarchy!). On the podcast he mentions that he uses xylitol as a mouthwash to prevent cavities, that there was a study done in Belize on school children who were given gum to chew several times a day – some were given ordinary gum and others were given gum with sorbitol or xylitol. After 40 months, the xylitol group experienced 73% fewer caries, sorbitol group a reduction of 26%, and those on the normal sucrose gum had 120% more cavities.I was not really much interested in any ‘natural sweeteners’ before hearing this but I’m always interested in natural ways to prevent teeth damage. It’s also been shown to prevent demineralization and hardens the lining of existing cavities. I have to get over the fact that I’m actually putting “sugar” on my teeth to prevent damage, and I want to do some further research myself before actually using it. (01) (02) (03) (04)

Xylitol for sucking, mouth rinsing and tooth brushing – (At least) 3 times a day, take half a teaspoon of xylitol powder (or more) and rinse your mouth with the xylitol-saliva mixture which will form for 3 to 5 minutes a time, then spit. After being guaranteed yesterday that I won’t be called into work today, I’ve now been called in, unfortunately I 100% knew they wouldn’t call me in and I didn’t get enough sleep but I am not rostered any days next week so I cannot turn-away a Sunday-rate shift. The irony. I feel like my eyes won’t open and I hope I’m safe to drive to work.

Was fine at work, and now it’s 1am and I’m still going strong. Came up with a business idea today for when I move to the Sunshine Coast and have been working on it ever since I got home from work (6 hours ago). 

A friend is visiting tomorrow so I hope I get tired soon, but my mind is buzzing from this new business idea.. hard to turn off this tap of ideas :)
