New week, new experiment. This time, it’s less about the food, and more about intentionally creating the life I want.

Experiment Dates: Tues 1st July – Wed 9th July.

Our private community did a 21 day “Optimism” challenge last year based on a Ted Talk by Shawn Achor and it was profound in the way that it made me realize where I can improve my life as well as “training” my brain to be more positive. From the lessons I learnt doing that challenge, I have adjusted it and will this week be incorporating different things to continue to help me ever-focus on intentionally creating a great life.

This week I’ll be trialling some of the upcoming tasks in a community challenge that I’m creating. I will only focus and celebrate the positive things that I do. So rather than a food-accountability diary that I normally do, this week is focusing on “scanning for & acknowledging only the positive choices & experiences” in order to continue the momentum and deliberate training the sub-conscious mind to focus on the things I am doing right for my mind, body & soul.

  • Have a single affirmation to focus on throughout the week and visualize it 3 times throughout the day
  • Internal Nourishment (Healthy Food Choices, Supplements, Herbs, etc.)
  • Brain Food (books, podcasts, education, conversations, videos, etc.)
  • Self-Care (chemical-free choices, massage, sauna, healings, gym, etc.)
  • Gratitude – 3 new things daily that you are grateful for (brain is trained to scan the world to look for the positive instead of the negative)
  • 2 Minute Journaling about 1 positive experience you’ve had over the past 24 hours (allows your brain to re-live it, also helps train brain to look for the positive)
  • Daily Movement (teaches your brain that your behaviour matters, among the more obvious benefits)
  • Meditation (allows your brain to get over the culture that we are creating to try and do multiple tasks at once, allowing our brains to focus to the task at hand, connection with source)
  • Noticing Acts of Kindness (Trains your brain to scan for positive)

  • Podcast: Extreme Health Radio EP# 242 – Greg Knight – Learn How Rolfing Can Heal Pain & Soreness So You Can Regain The Energy & Vitality Of Your Youth – learnt about what “Rolfing” is for the first time.. something between deep tissue massage and chiropractic work. And co-incidentally, the day that I listened to this, was the exact day that I had a conversation with someone at work that is having the exact issues that rolfing can help with.
  • Purchased Abraham Hicks meditations for my Android to do my daily meditations (search Abraham Hicks from Google Play Store)
  • Listened to ‘144 Body of Consciousness‘ Podcast episode, loved it so much that I then went to their website and purchased their Awakening track and downloaded about 17 of their freebie audio downloads which I’m going through now and setting up iTunes to download the rest of their podcasts.
  • Purchased some Awakening mp3 tracks to listen to – they feel so good to listen to. “Call to Awaken” album (1hr)
  • Listened to Are you having a Spiritual Awakening Part One (1hr) & Part Two (2hrs)
  • Listened to Connecting With the Energies Around You Part One (1hr) & Part Two (2hrs)
  • Listened to Do you Remember (36min)   (Kind of odd.. )
  • Updated all my fave iTunes podcast subscriptions to refill my mobile with brain food
  • Listened & applied 3 hours of Reiki and Self-Healing with Reiki videos on YouTube, channeling energy into my hands, and trying to do the symbols and just experiencing something new.
  • Listened to an Extreme Health Radio podcast 237 on sound healing and it was fascinating to learn about energy blocks within us that can change the frequency of our voice and be “cured” (cos I can’t think of a better word right now) by a matching frequency.

Acts of Kindness & Gratitude

  • My sister folded some of my washing and sent Jay (nephew) into my room to “deliver” them to me, so sweet.
  • My mum called to meetup for lunch today, and although nothing went as planned & we ended up at a food court, it was a great afternoon with the people I love.
  • My sister went for a really long walk with me today, despite having already done a big walk earlier in the day with her kids.
  • Yasmin spent extra time with me chatting last night about consciousness, religion, spirituality, natural health, etc.
  • Michael made me dinner tonight which was really kind and unexpected
  • Michael made me dinner again tonight after I had already half-cooked my own he told me that he was cooking for everyone. Hard to know in this place whether meals are shared or not so I prefer to make my own because then there is no ‘expectation’ from anyone, but gratitude for the kiev tonight, thanks :)
  • My sister made a roast dinner tonight – thanks sis!

Positive Experiences

  • Walked past the massage shop today and the girl in there said “Hello, Penny”.. she had remembered my name from the one conversation we had last week, and started up a conversation. I like that. I wish I would remember more people’s names, it definitely makes them feel special.
  • Got a Reiki healing on Sunday and HOLY MOLY.. it was powerful.. it was energizing.. it was pure energy, I dunno what the heck she was doing but I felt it everywhere.. energy / cells in my body moving.. I felt the force of power where she was healing.. it was incredible. At one point in the healing, she did something and I felt all my cells in that area shift at once – like magic or something hehe, I was in awe – I was instantly a *believer* and after it finished, I couldn’t stop thanking her (instead of walking away quietly hoping that *something* worked.. I *knew* that something incredible had happened). Before this session, I kind of scoffed at Reiki and was heading towards Quantum Touch / Quantum Healing as my preferred interest to learn, but 40 mins with this one lady.. what a difference it makes when someone is healing from their heart – I felt the love, I felt the energy swirling and moving and although I had my eyes closed and had no idea what she was doing, I felt it move powerfully through my body. Amazing experience. Many shifts happened especially in the lower half of my body, so many tensions released that I didn’t know that I was *holding onto*.. for god knows how long. I’m really eager to learn more now.. how / what happened.. what was that? Incredible. I am still really surprised that I could feel that powerful energy moving through me..especially as she wasn’t even touching me and I could feel .. intense changes happening when she was doing it – intense like – what the heck was that – whoosh – what?? hehe. I have many questions and want to try it again so I’ve booked in again for tomorrow night.
  • Went to do another Reiki session last night but instead got Liquid Crystals (her recommendation). I really resonated with her and we spent an hour and a half talking consciousness & natural healing, religion & spirituality etc. You know I love those topics :) Always great to find people you can talk from the heart with without judgement x
  • Spent 10 hours hanging out with Mike Berry in Melbourne city. It was so good to chat to someone who is riding the same wave, who is really easy to be around, felt really comfortable and like I’d known him for years instead of seconds.. and we even got a movie in at the cinema and went to an outdoor-like bar with a great vibe (and had pineapple juice). Time well spent living in the moment and chatting about everything. I wish more people were this easy-going, and not ‘rushing’ to be somewhere else, just living in the now and speaking your truth and allowing the other to speak theirs even if it differs. It’s great. More moments like this please Universe :)
